Easter Events for Everyone Around LA

traditions are no more. When the Crystal Cathedral filed bankruptcy a couple

year, sadly, another beloved holiday tradition has come to at least a
temporary end. There will be no Easter service at the Hollywood Bowl for
2012....Read Full Post

And the Winners Are...Readers Choice Winners Announced

Fri, 03/30/2012 - 14:42 — Anonymous As promised, the votes have been
tallied and the winners determined in the contests for the Los Angeles Travel
Readers Choice Awards. Our number crunchers in New York audited the votes and
determined that there was some suspicious voting activity in a few categories
and scrubbed the questionable votes (read the FAQ). It changed some
percentages, but in the end it didn't change the outcome of any of the LA
Travel races. What did change the outcome of a few categories was a
last-minute push to get out the vote that changed the results in the last few
hours of voting....Read Full Post

Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is Almost Here

Wed, 03/21/2012 - 05:42 — Anonymous I've been invited to do a pre-race
ride-along in the Porsche that won last year's *Pirelli World Challenge* at
the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach. It's quite exciting and a little
trepidatious. Spell check tells me that's not a word, but that's what I am.
I've experienced the excitement of shooting the race from inside curve 11,
just a few feet from passing cars, but never had a chance to be inside a race
car, so it should be fun....Read Full Post

Green Los Angeles

Sat, 03/17/2012 - 05:55 — Anonymous In honor of St. Patrick's Day tomorrow,
the theme for #FriFotos on Twitter today is "green," so I thought I'd take
the opportunity to point out how green Los Angeles is, for those of you who
haven't experienced it for yourselves. It's not just that we have vast parks
and are surrounded by forested mountains, but the sprawling neighborhoods and
city center are all lined with trees. From rows of palms to flowering trees
of every hue to deciduous trees that change colors with our mild seasons,
visitors are often surprised by the sheer number and diversity of LA's trees,
many of which were planted in the last few decades to help alleviate the
smog. It has helped....Read Full Post
